Radio Credits
The Willow and I

Radio play / broadcast over ABC on January 22, 1950

Mel Ferrer joined Jane Wyman and recent film co-star Beatrice Pearson in this absorbing radio play that broadcast over "Theater Guild on the Air" in early 1950. Wyman and Pearson play two sisters who are in love with the same man. He chooses the manipulative older sister, who bestows all her love on their son after his premature death. Ferrer plays the dual role of the man whom the two sisters love as well as his own son.

Theater Guild on the Air broadcast live out of NYC but many Hollywood actors appeared in their radio plays when in town. This is in all probability Mel Ferrer's first starring appearance in a radio play since his breakthrough role in the film Lost Boundaries, in which Beatrice Pearson appeared as his wife. Thirty years in the future he'll play opposite Jane Wyman in the hit show "Falcon Crest."

This radio play seems to exist as a recording in private collections, but the only available copies for purchase are of extremely poor quality.
