Ballet Russe
Greek Theater, Los Angeles, California August 1952
Mel Ferrer took some valuable time away from his La Jolla Playhouse production duties
during the summer of 1952 to be a family man and also indulge his love
of dance. The Ballet Russe was the pre-eminent touring dance company of
the era and made annual trips to the Los Angeles area in the early
1950s, usually appearing at outdoor venues, such as The Hollywood Bowl
or - as they did in 1952 - the Greek Theater, located in the Griffith
Park area of Los Angeles.
Seen with Ferrer are his daughter Pepa, family friend Connie Clark,
Mel's son Mark and his wife Frances.
