Cannes International Film Festival
Cannes, France
May 1960

One of the films shown at the 1960 Cannes International Film Festival was "The Hands of Orlac" starring Mel Ferrer as a concert pianist whose hands are severely damaged in an accident and his obsession that they'd been transplanted. He's shown at the festival after its screening along with the director Edmond T. Gréville and two of his co-stars, French actresses Dany Carrel and Lucile Saint-Simon. Christopher Lee co-starred as the villain. In the series of photos shown below the actor is talking with Claude Bolling, the classical pianist who substituted for him in the film. They're playing around with the differences in their respective hand sizes for photographers.
