The Glass
Menagerie Premiere
Los Angeles, California September 1950
Mel Ferrer is shown attending the premiere of Warner Brothers' "The Glass
Menagerie" with his wife Frances. The movie was the first filming of
Tennessee Williams' famous play and Williams himself contributed to the
screenplay. The film was produced by a close friend of Ferrer's - Jerry
Wald - and it starred Jane Wyman (with whom Mel would co-star 35 years
later on TV), Kirk Douglas, Gertrude Lawrence and Arthur Kennedy.
