Mel Ferrer attended the wedding of Deborah Kerr and writer Peter Viertel without his wife, Audrey Hepburn, who was still recuperating from the birth of their son Sean a week earlier. He is shown at the reception, which was given by novelist Irwin Shaw. The Ferrers, the newly wed Viertels and the Brynners were all living in Switzerland at the time.
