Refugee Children's Benefit

In 1957 Mel Ferrer hosted a special showing of his film "Lili" for refugee children in West Berlin. This was a tense time for the divided city and the Berlin Wall would be built just four years later. There was a great deal of interest in both Europe and America in providing whatever amenities possible for the people living in the Western segment, which was completely separated from their Western allies.
